What Therapists Are saying

|
“I loved it. Thanks for putting together something that can be applied to practice
tomorrow.
I have had many conversations with physio friends over the years saying how many of us when we are honest with ourselves feel lost in what we are feeling with those special tests sometimes.
We often don’t stop and hone in on/improve the skills we already do have!”
|
“I could not recommend this course enough. The instructors spent time with each therapist/clinician to ensure that they were using the proper techniques. You leave the course with skills that you can apply the next day assessing patients.”
|
“Excellent course. Very applicable to clinical practice. Whether you have been practicing for years or are brand new this course will bring you up to date, and increase your confidence in assessing the acute knee.”
|
“Thanks again for the excellent course on the weekend. The hands-on learning was priceless. I have already implemented some of these skills in my practice this week!”

Instructor

Meryl Wheeler

MEd, BKin, CAT(Ret.), NPE

A retired Athletic Therapist and Non-Physician Expert (NPE) in Acute Knee Injuries. She is also the coordinator of the Speciality Clinics at the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre. Over the past 16 years Meryl has evaluated over 15,000 knees and has been directly involved in the training and mentoring of NPE’s, sport medicine fellowship candidates, and other allied health professionals in the evaluation and management of acute knee injuries.

I have known Meryl Wheeler as a student, an athletic therapist, a teacher and as a colleague for 26 years. She has dedicated her life to the care of patients and the teaching of other health care workers and students. She is an outstanding clinician and teacher. The development and implementation of a continuing education course on acute knee injuries provides tremendous value to other clinicians looking to further their knee knowledge and skills in this difficult and important area of musculoskeletal care.

Dr. Preston Wiley

Sport Medicine Physician

I have known Meryl & worked closely with her in caring for many knee injured patients. I know her to have excellent physical examination skills with acute knee injuries and is adept at management of this injury. I have also see her train colleagues to be effective co-workers.  As such. I trust not only her knowledge and expertise, but also her ability to teach and mentor other therapists in their pursuit of advanced clinical skills.
